Mr. Wheeler,

I just read your story "Paper or Plastic?" and had a good laugh. Thanks for the link. I found your blog via Southern Writer [Well Hello, Miss L.V.--I didn't expect to see you here!]. I see that you live in MA, and I'll be attending the NESFA Boskone 44 in Feb. Have you ever been?

SW: Thanks for the shout out on your blogspot blog! Likewise, I had bookmarked your livejournal and kept thinking: where's her posts? Awfully quiet there. ;-) I've got the real deal bookmarked now.

LBB: Or, should I say, Ms. Blue? Mr. Wheeler? I must be old, or else you are very polite (we'll assume the latter.)

Ah, you're stealing my thunder. It's hard enough coming up with something interesting to say once a week without the occasional passerby throwing out a comment to preempt my 'brilliance'.

Yes, I am planning on going to Boskone 44. Haven't ever been. First SF Con in many, many years. Looking forward to it and meeting many new friends. Since you brought it up, you're on the hook now to meet up and introduce me to your posse (do the young'uns still say posse? peeps? droogs?)

Dear T. W.,

Appy Polly Loggy for the dedoochka- effect of my address to yourself; didn't mean to make you feel all starry. Am suffering from spillover of recent comment-thread in which Miss L.V. (Southern Writer) and I discuss (a little) some nuances of being 'southern'. My personal southern inculcations make me averse to addressing you as 'Todd' until you invite me to do so (by, say, signing an email or post as 'Todd'), but 'Todd Wheeler' sounds more formal (almost rude, to my southern ears) than Mr. W or even Mr. Wheeler. I can't very well call you Mr. T because... well, that one's taken.

Would love to make your acquaintance at Boskone; much more fun than going oddy-knocky. I will save you future disappointment by confessing in advance that my Boskone-attending banda will be very small.

I'm really feeling quite the soomka myself, and am a little spoogy about attending the con on my birthday (Feb. 18). At any rate, it'll be choodessny to gain a new droog.
